Mina's Red Bustle Gown

The gown is in two parts; one is the bodice which is boned and closes with a seperating zipper at the back and the other is the skirt to which the pleated underskirt and draped apron and bustle are all sewn into one waistband which closes at the side with a hook and eye.  All of the buds that edge the neckline wrap around the waist and hem of the bodice and then cascade in a waterfall over the right backside of the bustle are and formed and hand sewed on.  The bustle overskirt had a train; pleasted underskirt   There is an amazing amount of fabric in this gown; the pleated underskirt alone takes over 13 yards of fabric and there is a total of 25 yards in all!

Below are a few pictures taken by various photographers; if you see a photo you took on this page and would like credit please send me an email and I will do so!  :)  Often the color of the gown changes in the photos according to the lighting and often looks a little pink; in real life it is a bright blood red.
